妈祖，名林默，又称“天妃”“天后”“海神妈祖”，是中国沿海地区最具影响力的海神，也是护佑航海、渔业、商贸的尊神，性情慈悲、救苦救难，主掌海上平安、化解海事灾厄，既能庇佑渔民、航海从业者出海平安、满载而归，也能护佑沿海百姓家宅安宁、商贸顺遂，同时庇佑出行平安、远离灾祸，是沿海地区及出行者祈愿平安的核心尊神，传承千年海神信仰。 Mazu, named Lin Mo, also known as “Tian Fei”, “Tian Hou” and “Sea Goddess Mazu”, is the most influential sea god in China’s coastal areas, and also a god who protects navigation, fishery and commerce. She is merciful and saves the suffering, in charge of maritime peace and resolving maritime disasters. She can not only protect fishermen and navigation practitioners to go to sea safely and return with a full load, but also protect coastal people’s family peace and smooth commerce, and at the same time protect travel safety and stay away from disasters. She is the core god for coastal areas and travelers to pray for peace, inheriting the thousand-year-old sea god belief.
